The Art of Stretching
In ballet, stretching is far more than just a warm-up exercise — it is a central element for improving elegance and mobility. Correct stretching improves posture, reduces the risk of injury and creates flowing, graceful movements on stage. Yet many dancers underestimate the importance of proper stretching and make typical mistakes in the process.
After intensive stretching, experts recommend giving the muscles time to recover. A short walk, gently shaking out the legs or a brief massage all help to release tension and prevent muscle soreness.
