Classical ballet for adults of all ages – no prior experience needed
Have you never danced before? Or did you do ballet as a child and now want to get back into it? Either way, you've come to the right place. In our adult classes, people in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond dance – with and without prior experience, with and without an athletic background.
It's never too late to start ballet. What you need is curiosity, openness and a little time. We'll teach you the rest.
A typical adult ballet class at Düsseldorf Ballett is structured but never stiff. We begin with a careful warm-up to prepare the body for the work ahead. Then follow:
The classes are built progressively – each lesson connects to the previous one. Those who come regularly will feel the progress.
Our teacher Alexandra Yust teaches using the Vaganova method – the Russian classical ballet system developed at the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg and regarded worldwide as one of the best ballet training systems.
For adults this means: well-considered, systematic teaching that never overtaxes the body. Every exercise has a clear purpose – whether it's the strength of the foot muscles, the mobility of the hips or the coordination of the arms. We pay attention to correct technique so that you can develop safely and injury-free.
Experience a complete ballet class – free and with no obligation.
„I signed up for the adult ballet group at the age of 37 and had no idea what to expect. It was the best decision of my life!"
– Gauhara M.
Yes, absolutely. Our beginner classes are made exactly for that. No prior experience is needed – just a joy of movement and a bit of openness.
For the trial class, comfortable sportswear is enough. For regular lessons we recommend leggings, a close-fitting T-shirt or leotard, and ballet slippers or non-slip socks.
The trial class is free and completely non-binding. You experience a full lesson and can then decide at your leisure whether you'd like to continue.
